The Unspeakable Houseness of Oakland
In the beginning there was the House. And the House was dull, and had Dull People in it, and in a Void where it was without joy or sufficient fun and friends. And this was sad, for the purpose of the House was to be a Place Where Exciting Things Happened. From the Void came a Voice, speaking: "Ever wanted to mingle genteelly, martini in hand, nibbling on a stylish hors d'oeuvre? Want an excuse to put on that little black dress or that natty suit?" And the Voice decreed: "Let there be Genteel, Interesting People, in Natty Suits and Little Black Dresses, that the House may serve its purpose." And So It Was. ---------------------------------------- Always eager to obey the voices, it's Cocktail Party V17.0! You're invited to a cocktail party at The Unspeakable Houseness of Oakland, on Saturday, January 23rd, 2010 from 8pm-2am-ish. Drinks and yummy hors d'oeuvres will be served until we run out. Dressing up is encouraged, but not required by any stretch of the imagination. The only thing required is you. Swanky drinks and plenty of appetizers will be provided, but you are welcome to bring anything you would like to share.
